Palestinian artist born in Beit Lahem, lives and works in Beit Lahem
Samar Ghattas creates watercolors in a delicate miniaturesque
manner. When looking at her work, one thinks of mosaics and inlaid
precious stones. Some Palestinian artists draw the horrors of war
and some draw dreams of escape, in Ghattas's watercolors, the two
are combined. At first the watercolors seems to be further, one can
observe their darker side. For instance, the image of a quaint
doorway when looked at more closely is a doorway strewn with
stumbling stones.
