Summary: Elias Chacour who humbly states, “I wasn’t born an Arab, or
an Israeli, or a Christian. I was just born a baby.” The film
reveals the background and dedication of this unique man: We hear
him talking about his experiences in 1948 when his village (like
hundreds of others) was wiped off the map by the Israeli army. We
learn about the way he defied the Israeli authorities and built his
first school without a building permit. And we see how his steadfast
determination has created the means of making his vision into a
reality by founding the first university for Muslims, Christians and
Jews in Israel. Elias Chacour—several times nominated for the Nobel
Peace Prize and recipient of the Japanese equivalent, the Niwano
Prize, in 2001—is dedicated to creating conditions under which blood
brothers can finally bring alive the message of peace that founded
all three of their great religions. Here, in the beautiful land of
Galilee, where it all began...
