Israel completely
demolished in the Occupied Territories- without East Jerusalem- at
least 30 Palestinian houses and other structures. All of these
structures were demolished as a result of Palestinian “illegal”
building. Until the end of 2000 Israel demolished at least 2.3000
houses of Palestinians.
Israel employs a policy
of mass demolition based on two principles:
1- Limitation of
Palestinian construction
2- Allocation of the
largest possible areas for Israeli settlements and their expansion.
The limitation has a
purpose: to freeze planning in Palestinian town and villages.
To get a permission to
build is very difficult but is very easy to reject and application,
due to the fact that the landowners are enable to provide proof of
ownership.
Palestinians have to ask
a permission and without an Israeli permit they can build, as a
consequence, the houses are not in good care so Israelis authorities
demolished them at any given moment.
