In conformity of its
criminal history of aggression, belligerency and occupation at any
cost,
Israel committed a new
ugly massacre against Palestinians by killing in Khan Younis on
Monday at least 14
civilians, including a woman and four children, and wounding 150
people. American made
Apache helicopters backing the invading force of Israeli tanks
fired its missiles at a
big Palestinian crowd in Al Amal neighborhood, inflicting this large
number of casualties among civilians. Furthermore, and two hours
later, the Israeli of tanks and
armored vehicles began firing heavily at Nasser’s Hospital where hundreds of Palestinian
civilians, relatives of the victims, flocked to the hospital. One medic and a
thirteen-year-old boy were hit, and a great material damage was
inflicted in the hospital.
The Union of Health Work
Committees in Gaza appealed to all peace loving people to
come to the rescue of
the Palestinian people in the occupied territories.
“ The situation inside
Palestinian land is deteriorating day after day, and the Israeli
brutal
attacks are
increasing.”
Meanwhile, occupation
troops and gangs of armed Jewish settlers take their share in
terrorizing the
Palestinian population in the occupied West Bank. Under the
protection of
the Israeli army, they
attack and occupy systematically Palestinian villages and remote
houses close to the
illegal settlements. Their aim is intimidating villagers and farmers
clenching to their land.
Both soldiers and
settlers are embarking in a process of destruction of the
Palestinian civil
society in the West Bank
and Gaza Strip where 3.3 million Palestinians, about half of them
refugees, are living
under the shadow of a brutal occupation. For example, a band of
Jewish settlers attacked
in early October Palestinian farmers harvesting their crops of
olives in Akraba, near
Nablus, killing one farmer and wounding others. Olive is the only
source of livelihood for
peasants in Palestine since times immemorial.
Other band of settlers
ambushed a civilian van earlier this summer carrying a group of
Palestinian families
returning from a wedding party near Hebron, killing and wounding
members of a whole
family including children. Shortly after the outbreak of the
Intifada
(Uprising) against
occupation two years ago, a Jewish settler using a baseball baton
clubbed to death a
72-year-old Palestinian farmer near Hebron too. Commenting on the
brutal killing of that
elderly farmer, the Israeli military spokesman claimed then that the
reckless settler had
meant only a prank.
