  • Palestine rises again under the sun of the uprising by S Rami

May 1948: Palestine’s once flourishing towns and countryside turned overnight to ruins,
and its prosperous Arab community of 1.3 million strong overburdened with grief and shock,
horrified as Zionist gangs embarked on introducing their latest invention of killing en masse
accompanied intentionally with wide publicity-- Der Yassin- type-massacre, or the
cornerstone of neo-Nazist political entity in the Middle East.

Der Yassin’s massacre opened the door ajar for herds of bloodthirsty Zionist gangs to
spread death and havoc everywhere in the doomed land as best means of speedy
evacuation of the Promised Land from its people. Panicky and terrorized Palestinians
managed to cross the borders barefooted and penniless leaving behind them all their
belongings and property to outsiders.

Invaders of all creeds came to Palestine and gone. Therefore, the latest batch of invaders
is bound to leave or be assimilated and live with Palestinians on equal footing. The ghetto-
state carries its seeds of death. It adds new problems to old ones. Operation Defensive
Shield has failed in bringing security to any one inside and outside the green line.
Accordingly, the same inevitable end will face the plunders of Operation Determined Path,
which created more problems and suffering to both people.

The ghetto-state should open its gate to the winds of change and tell hotheaded settlers
the true history of this region, history as told by facts, not through utopia and metaphysics.
Of course, sophisticated weapons in hands of bigots are capable of inflicting heavy
casualties among Palestinians throwing stones, but not security to occupation.

Sharon is certainly leading his people to abyss. He views himself Alice in the Wonder Land.
What every one can see, except Sharon and his Lieutenants is a wasteland?
The Palestinians have learned throughout their history that catastrophe is a passing
torment, which the rising sun of their uprising has the ability to cure. They can see Palestine
rising again from the ashes of Sharon’s occupation like phoenix of the Arabian Desert.
The Palestinians are no longer huddling around a transistor or sitting before a television set
waiting to hear the happy news of uprising at full gear. They found themselves, thanks to
Sharon and his predecessor Barak, part and parcel of the escalating Intifada, which turned
all Israel’s military operation to hollow victories.
