A Fictitious Peace Plan by Amineh Ishtay
Peace Proposals
“Once we…achieve a ceasefire, we
can bring it down to the political arena and try to negotiate
peace. Unfortunately, to introduce a ceasefire is taking more
time than we imagined.” Said Peres.
According to a Foreign Report
publication from the respected Jame’s defence analysis group
said Israel was to propose a peace plan to the US that agrees to
an eventual independent Palestinian state.
Sharon will present a plan to Bush
and he would agree to certain withdrawals from the West Band and
a complete pull out from the Gaza Strip and the dismantling of
all settlements there.
But the reality is another one.
The killing of Palestinian activists doesn’t stop. The last
Tuesday Israel killed a third member of the Palestinian
resistance movement Hamas. On Sunday, a senior member of Hamas
was shot dead by Israeli occupation army in Qalqilya.
Peres said that they can’t stop
the assassinations or what they called “target killing” against
Palestinian activists if Arafat’s authorities rounded up over
100 Palestinians on Israel’s “wanted list.”
