A word of peace must be withheld
The homes of innocents are razed to the ground
A child wonders around the despoiled orchard
And a man weeps at the seized land
Iman Hijo bleeds from unjust
death
Durra sights the final breath of ended
living
The serene faces of martyrs abound
The future held hostage by occupation
force
Can the tender hands of young teenagers be
freed
That they write and hold books for a better tomorrow?
Hope imprisoned by the power to
usurp
And seize the belongings of rightful
holdings
Will noble Palestine have a peaceful
morrow
That people live and die in elusive
tranquility?
A word of peace is withheld a thousands are jailed
The crime is a yearning for justice and dignified life
Each day a funeral of sacred
anger
A young boy in the shroud of untimely
death
And tearful mothers mourning yet another murdered son
A painful sacrifice to
liberation's cause
Goliath is surpassed by modern
oppression
The suffering of David's folk
outdone
Liberty will meet its
coming down
And the living shall salute the
vindicated dead
