A proverb is a short pithy saying in general use, held to embody a general truth.

 

Here are some Palestinian Popular proverbs:

 

-         Nobody will plough the land except its cows.

-         One hand can’t clap.

-         Your close neighbor is better than your faraway brother.

-         The empty gives the way to the full.

-         The house is our father’s and the strangers came to kick us out.

-         Nock on the door before entering.

-         Do good and throw it in the sea.

-         There will be a day for the oppressor when he will be crushed like garlic.

-         Don’t drink from a well and throw a stone into it.

-         This who digs an evil hole will fall into it.
