An old knight is on a tryst with
destiny
A trial that is of epic
proportion
Countless years of arduous struggle
A will to fight in order to be
A symbol of a people's glorious
struggle
Epitomized by an olive branch bleeding
profusely
Countless martyrs attached to the blessed
land
Giving the most precious that their
nation lives
A nation aching by dint of insufficient
action
Though a massive - but ineffectual
weight
Palestine's dawn is that of the entire
nation
Multitudes that suffer from a
distance
Awaiting God's infinite
mercy
That the awesome toll is somehow redeemed
So that the umma restores its faith in
theodicy
And that immense suffering was not in
vain
May the bells toll however much the
tribulation
Let the minarets chant whatever
the loss
With him the nation is imprisoned in a
citadel
Of fear, inaction and hope for the
morrow
